You have the option to refund a donation in full or refund part of a donation. As the fundraiser, it's important to process all refunds via Vanco Events so that there is a clear audit trail on the payment and the refunds being issued.
Only users with 'Account Owner' and 'Power User' access can issue refunds.

Refund a donation in full
To refund a donation in full:
- From the left menu, click Dashboard then under Fundraising click Refund a donation
- To find the donation you wish to refund, you can enter in information in the filters at the top of the page and click Search
- Tick the box to the left of the donation/s you wish to refund
- Enter the reason for refunding at the bottom of the page. The reason entered will be included in the refund confirmation email sent to the donor/s
- Click Refund
- Click Confirm in the Confirm refund pop-up box to complete the refund
- It can take 5-10 business days for funds to appear back in the donor's account
- Once you have pressed Confirm you will not be able to cancel or reverse the refund
- It is important to include your refund policy in your terms and conditions
Partial refund on donations
You have the option of providing a partial refund on a donation value, should you not wish to refund the full value of the donation initially made.
To provide a partial refund on a donation:
- From the left menu, click Dashboard then under Fundraising click Refund a donation
- To find the donation you wish to refund, you can enter in information in the filters at the top of the page and click Search
- Tick the box to the left of the donation you wish to apply the partial refund to
- Under Amount to be Refunded in the far right of the table, edit the value to be the amount you wish to refund.
- Enter the reason for refunding at the bottom of the page. The reason entered will be included in the refund confirmation email sent to the donor
- Click Refund
- Click Confirm in the Confirm refund pop-up box to complete the refund
Refunded donations on Fundraising reports
Reports will automatically update to reflect any refunds processed on donations.
